This little girl Suzanne Smith was to become Reading’s first INTERNATIONAL  age group diver when aged 14 years old.  More of this later.  Also progressing at the time were Rebecca Seymour (9);  Paul Carter (8) both achieving their diving proficiency awards for their age groups and training hard for the Southern Counties Plain Diving Competitions soon, at Crystal Palace.  Meanwhile other little ones were coming along soon to make their names.
