Albatross History 4 – 1977. Beverley tops and Lindsey starts to spin

Reading Diving display team in practise with added members, Lindsay Rowan and Beverley Taplin and Diana Seward – a first for them soaring down from the highboard.  Lindsay Rowan soon learned how to spin. Not yet up to Paul Holton’s 2.5 spins excellently executed from the springboard.  Reading diving section earned their trophies and medals.   Crystal Palace was to see them all again.  A picture shows the divers during a training session. Little Louise Taylor 11 years surpassed herself bringing home the silver medal under 13 plain diving out of a field of 24.  Marianne Green 10 years made it a triple yearly victory for Reading divers in the same event taking the gold.
New divers Nicholas Bugg wins novice title with Barry Taplin second and Stephen Bolton third.

Preparations were progressing towards fulfilling dreams of a specialist diving club.  In the photograph above they are all wearing their recently delivered new track suits for the new club!
