Crystal Palace saw a swarm of Reading divers take titles in the Southern Counties Age group Diving Competitions. Penny Herring grabbed the title of the under 13 Plain diving competition following the previous holder Suzanne Smith who had moved up in age groups.  Marianne Green came fifth out of 16 – a fine achievement for an 8 years old.   Ian Primmett came home with gold out of a field of 17 in the 13/15 age group. 13 years old Paul Holton took bronze medal out of 39 and Helen Wright gained a deserved 5th place pennant.  Paul Watson gained bronze in the Plain diving for his age group.  Hopes are high for International status for both Paul Holton and Suzanne Smith in due course.

A note about Crystal Palace, O5/2022
The swimming and diving pool has been closed for a few years owing to an underwater leak into one of the windows.  There has been public outcry for fear that this marvellous facility will be lost.
Latest update
Despite the considerable unease it will now, at some point,  undergo repair at the cost of millions  05/2022. Watch this space as they say.
