Albatross History-4-1978  Diana models new track suit with beautiful badge

Diana Seward – Southern Counties Plain Diving Champion – showing of her new Track Suit Top which is dark green. Diana’s father Derek designed the beautiful badge. Red club colours changed to green and white.  The Albatross Diving Club of Reading is a specialist club for the teaching and learning the sport of diving.
Club nights are held on a Tuesday  plus extra training sessions during the week.  The divers trained at the  Central Pool Reading.

Stop Press! This above is written in the present tense 39 years ago! the system has continued to this present day. 2019 the club celebrated it’s Ruby Anniversary!  but sadly not in the usual home of the club – Central Pool.  The pool was closed and demolished 2018. We are awaiting the new pool due to open 2023, down by the riverside.

The divers have been training and at present during the weekends at the Abbey School Reading, Southampton, Hemel, Southend and London Aquatics Centre and Sandwell Aquatics Centre.
